As a popular saying goes, you judge the book by its cover; likewise you judge the clinic by its diagnostics department. Indeed, correct diagnosis determines both the course and results of the treatment. Every new solution, which is found in the world, almost immediately makes its way to our Clinic. In our diagnostics department, you can get not only a preventive examination of your eyes, but also a comprehensive examination.
In “VZGLYAD”, we use, among others, Non-Contact Tonometer NT-2000—a simple, but still indispensable device. Compared with tonometers that come into contact with the eye, NT-2000 does not interfere with the eye, and thus does not require application of anesthetic drops, which comes in handy if the patient is prone to allergies.
Ultrasound Pachymeter UP-1000 is used to measure corneal thickness as a part of preparations to vision correction. We also have been using Ultrasouund Scanner US-3300 for a long time. This multifunctional allows to conduct a number of tests, including pachymetry, B-scan, i.e. ultrasound scan of the eye, which proves invaluable when diagnosing some diseases, e.g. retinal detachment, and A-scan, i.e. measurement of the axial length of the eye, which is important for calculation of the lens before phacoemulsification surgery. A-scans also help to follow the dynamics of eye ball growth in children and teenagers, which allows to spot progressing myopia in advance.
As for OPD-scan ARK-10000, it is a high-precision unit, of which only a dozen can be found in Russia. Unlike standard Auto Ref/Keratometers, ARK-10000 is capable of scanning the eye ball in 6,000 points in just a fraction of a second, while others can scan only 300 points at a time. This exceptional capability provides that the results obtained with ARK-10000 are very accurate and precise.
Chart projecting system is a unique state-of-the-art device developed in Japan. What is so special about it? SC-2000 comprises an LCD monitor and is controlled by a panel synchronized with the ophthalmologist's workstation. The data are stored in digital format, which opens up new functions, such as setting up refraction distance between 3m—6m, wherein the size of the charts is modified so as to correlate with the chosen distance and to keep the viewing angle. The projector can be adapted to a sitting patient, that is, the display can be positioned so that the patient looks at the screen directly at right angle. Besides, the charts are projected in random sequence thus making it impossible for a patient to memorize them.
An ophthalmologist's workstation is a comfortable and esily-modified working place equipped with RT-5100 unit—an Auto Ref/Keratometer with add-on phoropter, complete with a set of glasses, which receives automatically all the data of the analysis of the eye. The unit is also connected with a virtual chart projector SSC-330 and a lensmeter, which make it much easier to select all kinds of eyewear.
We hope that our patients will be happy and satisfied with how our diagnostics specialists work and how accurate the tests are.
